Silver for Christine Schmit in Mexico

A small delegation of the LTA finest competitors participated at the training camp and tournament of the "World Taekwondo Open" from April 3 to April 9, 2011 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

2300 competitors from 25 nations participated at the tournament.

- 2d place for Christine Schmit *CONGRATULATIONS* in the category 15 - 18 years. 1st round: wins against Ecuador, 2nd round: wins against Costa Rica, and final round: loses against Mexican champion.
- Christine Schmit also started in the category 18 - 21 years. Loses first fight against Mexico.
- Lisa Zangarini (category senior, +21 years) loses first fight against Mexico.

Prior the tournament, our team participated at the "San Luis Potosi" training camp from April 4 to April 8. There were 3 training sessions per day with the opportunity to work with national teams from Canada, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Peru, Samoa, Columbia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, etc. This was an outstanding experience.

Due to an knee injury, Elodie Tavares was not able to participate at the training camp and the tournament, but she assisted the team and the coach during the complete stay in Mexico.

The LTA is delighted to announce the appointment of Gianni Cappellano as new President on February 19, 2013. Gianni Cappellano holds the 3d dan in Taekwondo and trains in the clubs of Esch/Alzette and Junglinster.
